Rusty Lee Ford, 54, originally from Stanley, North Carolina, passed away on January 31, 2026.
Born on October 11, 1971, in Gaston County, Rusty had an easygoing way about him and genuinely enjoyed being around people. He was a loving father who shared time and created memories with his son in those early years.
Rusty had a real knack for connecting with others. He loved hanging out with friends and family—swapping stories, enjoying casual get-togethers, telling jokes that got everyone laughing, or just being part of the group. His outgoing personality and warmth made him someone who could keep things lively and make people feel included.
Like many, Rusty faced life’s challenges over the years, but his appreciation for good company and simple joys stayed with him. He is remembered for the light he brought in his brighter moments and the value he placed on those connections.
He is survived by his father, John Ford; his brother, Todd Ford (wife Kris); his sisters, Abby Cauthen (husband Bobby) and Tonya Bedner (husband Rich); his son, Austin Ford; and extended family and friends who shared laughs and stories with him. He was predeceased by his mother, Ruby Ford.
The family invites those who knew Rusty to remember him in the way that feels most meaningful—perhaps by recalling a time when he was full of energy and laughter, sharing a story, or simply appreciating the good times he helped create.
A service to celebrate his life will be held 12:00 pm Saturday February 7,2026 at Community Pentecostal Church in Stanley. The family will receive friends from 11-12:00 prior to the service at the church.
