Glenda Blackley Moore, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, at Terrace Ridge Assisted Living. Born on November 18, 1934, in Charlotte, NC, Glenda was the cherished daughter of Rodney Thomas Blackley and Mary Geneva Killian Blackley, both of whom predeceased her. She was also the devoted wife of the late Carl Calvin Moore, Jr., whom she married in 1955, sharing a wonderful life together until his passing. She was also preceded in death by her sister Marlene Blackley Roach. Glenda was a proud graduate of Harding High School. Her life was a tapestry of varied roles and experiences, reflecting her adaptability and enduring spirit. She was a dedicated homemaker, a meticulous bank teller, a diligent factory worker, and an ever-helpful Walmart associate. Regardless of her role, Glenda's work ethic and kindness left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path. Her love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in her children: Carl Calvin Moore, III, and wife Robin, Andrea Teal Moore Michaelson, Terry Lynn Moore Stewart and husband Phillip, and Tina Lisa Moore Burns and husband Shannon. Glenda was also blessed with eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. Glenda was a woman of faith and a member of Castanea Community Church. Her vibrant personality shone through in her many hobbies and interests. She had a deep affection for animals and found joy in the simple pleasures of walking, aerobics, and dancing. Glenda's life will be celebrated at a service on Friday February 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Castanea Community Church, located at 14815 Lucia Riverbend Highway, Stanley, NC 28164. Family and friends are invited to gather from 10-11:00 prior to the service at the church and honor the life of a woman who brought light and joy to all who knew her. Interment will follow the service at the church cemetery.
